Let's do this

So my last post was about how undecided I was on what to do with my hair. After hours of thinking, advice from all my friends and being the crazy lady that I am I've deiced to be greedy and do booth styles. First I'll have it short and bright red and then I'll add my extensions/weave. I've done a lot of research when it comes to the hair colour as I want it very bright.

I've watched many videos on youtube and may people I know have suggested to use Loreal's Majicontrast, why you ask? Well I'll tell you, what makes this product special is that it's for naturally dark hair and doesn't require a lightener or pre-bleeching (we'll see). It offers Hi.Chroma for visible results on dark natural or dark coloured hair. Although it states it's long lasting, the amount of times I've heard how quickly red fades is ridiculous! So I need to protect it and keep it as bright as I can which is where Tresemme Colour fade protection shampoo & conditioner comes in. It is said to protect your colour for up to 40 washes, shields rich hues from fading leaving your hair soft and beautiful. I have used Tresemme in the past and I was very happy with the product so I'm hoping this will do the same.

This is all taking place this weekend, I have my sister coming over and my homegirl Sharan helping in this madness. I'll be sure to take before and after photos and I'll maybe make a short video. I'll see you guys on the other side.

Cream peroxide 9%/30 Vol (to give the colour that pop) you can also use 40 Vol which is the maximum recommend

Also available from:

Colour: Red

Tint bowl & brush which I purchased from Ebayuk from top rated seller sarahs1507

Tresemme Colour fade protection shampoo & conditioner, these were on offer from ASDA for 3 for £10. Check out Pearls and Poodles, it was her blog that helped me decided to get this shampoo & conditioner (thank you)

Loud

It's all about choices people, when it comes to fashion you choose what you like but it's always between one colour or another, between one size or another, between one print and another and so on. I always find our choices depend on three things, no.1 what we want as an individual, no.2 what other people/friends will think and no.3 the choice we end up choosing tells us one thing which is were not afraid of change. So this post is about me making that change but I'm reluctant at the same time, once you read below you'll understand why I'm unsure of this change.

Usually I'm so quick to choose how I'll have my hair in the summer but I have to say this year has been tricky. When it comes to summer no doubt I always have my hair short and funky, as it's just so easy to manage and maintain. However, having long and sexy hair isn't a bad shout either, I just find I get bored a lot quicker when it's long and I find the styles very limited. So here's the deal, thanks to the great inspiration and influence that is the mega superstar Rihannah  I've decided to either dye my hair bright red and trim it up a bit or get bright red hair extensions/weave with a side fringe. So why am I reluctant you say? Well it's because EVERYONE has got this bright red hair! Take a look:

Cheryl Cole

Hayley Williams (Paramore)

Cher Lloyd

Kat Von D

Scarlett Johanson

It's not a bad thing that nearly everyone has this colour, it's just that I can't even open a magazine, surf the internet or go to my local shop without seeing someone new with this bright red hair craze. I guess the upside is it suits many skin tones. The celebrities above are rocking this hair colour so why can't I?

Having Rihannah as an influence has helped me understand when it comes to hair colour and fashion choices, being loud isn't a bad thing, it's more like a statement. I'm usually loud when it comes to the clothes I choose in terms of it's colour and print and when it comes to hair choices I'm loud in the sense I always change it up and I'm willing to try new things and experiment but I've never tried a new hair colour.

So I've decided it comes down to these two hairstyles:

Short clean & tidy bright red hair

Long bright red weave

I'll be sure to put up photos of what I end up choosing, here we go!

That's right people I hit the big 25 and you know what? It was great! My birthday week was mental, everyday was non-stop but I loved it and I definitely felt all the love from my family and my amazing and wonderful friends (who I'm so lucky to have). The week started on a Friday supporting the boys, come Saturday it was all about being around my loved ones both friends and family surprised me with an amazing birthday lunch, presents and of course amazing weather. Sunday came and it was all about Essex fashion week, Tuesday was a lovely day in London watching The Graham Norton Show and the big day finally arrived where we got to party at the amazing Beach Blanket Babylon cocktail lounge in Shoreditch.

Snowbombing 2011

What's Snowbombing you say? Seriously people have you been hiding under a rock? Everyone needs to go to this festival before they die (yes it's that amazing). One of my closest girlfriends thought it would a great idea to go here for my birthday and boy was she right and I wasn't disappointed! Volvo Snowbombing  is an phenomenal festival which lasts a week and that week is full of madness, food, drink, snow, skiing, snowboarding and of course amazing live music and world class DJs in the beautiful landscape setting of Mayrhofen, Austria.

This trip was fantastic, me and the girls had seen everyone and everything from FatBoy Slim having it large, partying in the forest with The Prodigy, my girls dressing up as the sexy Hooter girls and joining everyone at the street party to the one and only legend Mr. Motivator doing what he does best on top of the mountain (as you do). Below are a couple of photos from the trip, but if you want to see more just check out the Snowbombing website, enjoy.

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2011 Academy Awards No.3 the best dressed

The best dressed for the 2011 Academy Awards:

Helen Mirren
The 65-year old actress knows how the work the red carpet and knows how to dress for her age and body shape. I adore Helen in this Vivienne Westwood satin couture gown, she looks so classy and lovely. I'm loving the sexy older women giving the younger generation some competition. Helen I place you 3rd on my best dressed list.

Natalie Portman (Winner best Actress for Black Swan)
This beautiful violet silk chiffon gown by Rodarte is detailed with Swarovski crystals, Jimmy Choo shoes and of course this outfit is complete with Tiffany & co Jewellery. Natalie looks absolutely beautiful in this dress, I place you 2nd on my best dressed list.

Mila Kunis
When Mila walked onto the red carpet I couldn't take my eyes off her, this beautiful lavender chiffon gown by Elie Saab Haute couture is just a complete eye catcher. The lace detailing and groisgrain ribbon waist is what it really comes down to, Mila looks beautiful and breathtaking in this gown, once again for a 2nd time Mila you place 1st on my best dressed list, whether your in Alexandra Mcqueen or Elie Saab you know how to work the red carpet.

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2011 Academy Awards No.2 the men

The sexy men pulled their weight on the red carpet and they all looked dashing and very handsome in the suits and tuxedos. There were a lot of bow ties mixed with silk and buttonless shirts.

Andrew Garfield
Looking sexy in a Louis Vuitton suit and shoes

 Justin Timberlake
Looking sharp and smart in Tom Ford

Russel Brand
Although I couldn't find who made this customised suit for Mr. Brand I have to say he looks awesome. I love the colour and the checkered shirt underneath with the black silk tie, everything is working

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2011 Academy Awards No.1 the risk takers

These women are always going to be top of my list because they know how to take a risk and still rock the red carpet by standing out for all the right reasons and sometimes the wrong. The beautiful Cate Blanchett was all about the structure and detail but still keeping it feminine, while Scarlett Johansson's dress colour stood out on the red carpet along with the open back and lace detail.
