It all comes down to this

Good evening people, I hope your all well and had a lovely weekend, so tonight is the night of all nights, that's right people my favourite award ceremony The 83rd Annual Academy Awards aka the Oscars. The red carpet will be filled with the most prestigious actors, directors & screen writers etc. I'm looking forward to seeing the beautiful fashion gowns & pieces from the likes of Versace, Monique Lhuillier, Tom Ford & Christian Louboutin to name a few.

This years competition is tough in terms of the films themselves, the performances from the actors and of course the direction from the most talented & well known directors of all time. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it, the decision will be tough but I'm intrigued to see what the results will be.

The show will be hosted by the very handsome James Franco who is up for Best Actor in "127 hours" and alongside him will be the very beautiful Anne Hathaway. After seeing all their promo work for the ceremony tonight it sure looks to be full of laughs & tongue in cheek humour which is always needed at shows like these. This is probably the first time I've seen the Oscars presented by two individuals as usually it's a one man job, so I think tonight will be a really good show.

Now where do I even start with who I want to win? There are so many talented individuals on tonight's show so here are a couple of who I want to be walking away with a little gold man in their pocket:

Best Actress: Natalie Portman, Black Swan

Best Actor: Colin Firth, The Kings Speech

Best Supporting Actress: Amy Adams, The Fighter

Best Supporting Actor: Christian Bale, The Fighter

Cinematography: Darren Aronofsky, Black Swan

Animated Feature Film: Toy Story 3, Lee Unkirch

Directing: Darren Aronofsky, Black Swan or Danny Boyle, 127 hours

Best Picture Darren Aronofsky, Black Swan

Okay okay, as you can see I'm a huge Black Swan fan but can you blame me? I'm so drawn & intrigued by the thriller master piece. Good luck to everyone tonight, your all winners.

lights, Camera, Fashion: 2011 Grammys No.3 the best dressed

Always leaving the best till last, I narrowed the best dressed to two women, only because the Grammy red carpet is very theatrical and anything goes, so choosing these two women wasn't easy but I managed. Take a look below,

Heidi Klum
Damn Heidi is beautiful, the 37-year old look every bit glam in this Julien Macdonald dress. I put Heidi 2nd on my best dressed list because as a supermodel she knows how to deliver no matter where she is and her body is amazing after having 4 children. The dress shows off her body beautifully and I love her flower print heels.

Lea Michele
Many may think Lea is playing it safe in this black Emilio Pucci dress, Lorraine Schwartz jewels and of course Christian Louboutin heels. But I say not really, I love the bright pink lipstick to add some colour to the outfit and the hair being down is nice and relaxed. Yes the dress is black but look at the detail, I love the sexy slit to show of her legs and the see through middle part of the dress. So there you have it Lea Michelle is the best dressed at the 2011 Grammys.

lights, Camera, Fashion: 2011 Grammys No.2 the men

All I have to say is the Glee men definitely bought their A-game to the red carpet. All the men look sexy, sophisticated and clean cut, while still showing off their own style. To the men out there pay attention, seriously black suits and tuxedos are out, it's all about skinny ties, whites, greys, navy's, charcoals and of course attention to detail, look below and learn.

Darren Criss
Keeping it cool in grey, love this suit by Distict Homme

Matthew Morrison

Kevin McHale

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2011 Grammys No.1 the risk takers

When it comes to a show stopping event the Grammys don't fail to disappoint. These ladies are on my list because they think outside the box and they always rock what they are wearing. It's never a safe choice with these ladies in particular and you know what I'm glad, they come forward with their own unique style and class, take a look below and see for yourself.

Only "The only girl in the world" could pull this off and thank god that girl was Rihannah. Take a look at this Jean Paul Gaultier gown which leaves little to the imagination

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2011 Grammys

The 2011 Grammy's red carpet was a glamorous show stopping magical event. This year there was no limit with the fashion, we saw everything from glitter, feathers, sequences, to pvc and even mirrors. As always I have to narrow it down to the risk takers, the men and of course the best dressed, so enjoy the fashion people.

Jennifer Lopez

Kim Kardashian

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2011 BAFTAs No.2 the best dressed

Best dressed this year at the BAFTAs was tough, only because the women are all wearing completely different designers, colours and style of dresses, but I did narrow it down in the end. Take a look people and tell me what you think.

Amy Adams
Amy Adams is definitely becoming a favourite of mine on the red carpet and she is also someone I look forward to seeing as she is very unpredictable (which I love). Amy I place you 3rd for my best dressed list, she looks so beautiful in this Elie Saab gown with a cute Ferragamo bag

Jessica Alba
"True blue baby I love you" and I sure do love Jessica in this gorgeous Versace floor length dress. The colour on her skin is devine and I love the little accent of blue from the necklace it's very subtle. I place Jessica 2nd on the best dressed list.

Thandie Newton
The beautiful Thandie looks stunning in this pink Monique Lhuillier gown. I love the colour and shape of the dress on her frame. Keeping the hair simple is perfect as the dress is a statement on it's own and the black eye liner on the top and bottom makes the complete look very sophisticated. Well done Thandie Newton for being the best dressed at the 2011 BAFTAs.

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2011 BAFTAs No.1 the risk takers

So we all know why I love these ladies and looking at the photos below I'd say it's very obvious. Print, colour, texture and structure. Rosamund Pike is bold and daring in her bright yellow gown and she's looking confident, while Emma Watson tones down the colour and goes for something more nude and feminine. I was very scared Jennifer's structured and beautiful detailed corset gown was going to be a wardrobe malfunction on the Red Carpet, but don't worry people it stayed put for the whole night.

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2011 BAFTAs

The 2011 BAFTA awards graced our screens on Sunday 13th February and even though I was excited to see who won what awards, I was more excited to see who wore what on the red carpet. I was happy to see the theme this year was colour, colour and even more colour, from reds, yellows, pinks and blues, the sky was definitely the limit this year. I always put my chosen stars in categories but this time round at the BAFTAs I was disappointed with the male turn out, nothing really stood out for me, so I'm only going to look at the risk takers and the best dressed. I'm thinking the guys are saving their sexy tuxedo's for the Academy Awards on Sunday 27th February and if that is the case, patience is definitely a virtue.

Emma Stone
Check out this one-shoulder  two-tone gown and cranberry red long silk skirt by Lanvin

Julianne Moore
I think Julianne looks simple and classy in this velvet Tom Ford dress

Gemma Arterton
The British beauty looked every bit beautiful in this YSL column dress with a bright electric blue bow.

#fashiondigital

Thursday night's Vogue event at the Apple store in Covent Garden was a great success, brilliant turn out and many bloggers, people in the fashion industry and tech junkies turned up (a beautiful mix of individuals if you ask me). Both Disneyrollergirl and creative director of Vogue Robin Derrick had an interesting topic to discuss. The discussion looked at how technology is forever changing and moving very fast to the point it's hard to keep up with but somehow as a society we manage to keep with just fine. Both Disneyrollergirl and Robin share their thoughts on the evolution and what the future may hold.

The idea of launching Vogue on the iPad came into Robin's mind before the iPad even came into place (now that is what you call total genius don't you think? I mean who comes up with an idea before the actual product come into place, ladies and gents I'm getting my thinking cap on). Robin discusses the collision between technology and communication and how it's evolved increasingly, we looked at how the Gerogeio Armani campaign (which he worked on with both Victoria and David Beckham) leaps from page to become cinema.

The event will be available to download on itunes so if anyone did miss out I'll let you guys know when it's up.

Celebrity Style: Natalie Portman

After being blown away by her performance in her most recent movie  Black Swan, I had to put her on my celebrity style this week. She's beautiful, talented and comes across as such a nice individual when being interviewed, Natalie Portman (one of my favourite actresses) has come a very long way. From hitting our screens when she was only 13 years old alongside Gary Oldman and Jean Reno in the 1994 hit film "Leon", Portman has become a very well respected actress in the film industry. From her early days on the red carpet to now, there's no doubt that the former child star is now a fully fledged style icon. Her style is a mixture of sophisticated glamour thrown in with colour and extraordinary detail. And I've also noticed she likes Rodarte, below we see her wearing two of the designers dresses and Rodarte  were also the costume designers in her latest film Black Swan, hmmmmm can you see a pattern there?  Take a look at her outfits below.

Natalie looking beautiful in this bright red dress by Rodarte paired with Charles David gold stilettos and a Dior clutch

Pretty in pink in a dress by Rodarte with Stella McCartney shoes and Kwiat jewellery

(My personal favourite) Jason Wu dress and Christian Louboutin clutch. Love the colours, love the dress, love how she knows how to dress for her petite frame as the puff ball adds shape to her hip area

Looking beautiful in Lavin and wedge heels (hope you girls know who Lavin is as he recently did a collection with H&M)

Blogging from my iPhone4

Hello guys how are we all? Today for the first time ever I'm blogging from my trusty iPhone4. Although I love blogging from my desktop, I've been trying to find an app for either my iPhone or iPad where I can blog on the move and guess what ladies and gentlemen I think I have found the perfect app to do so. Blogbooster, this app is great as it holds the same features as the blogger website. You can add photos from your photo library or instantly take a photo and post it straight on your blog. Your able to type landscape or portrait depending on personal preference, oh and did I mention the app is FREE. Writing your posts has never been more easier and once posted looks no different from those posts written on your computer.

It works with the following:
- Blogger (Blogspot)
- Tumblr
- Wordpress
- Wordpress Hosted
- Typepad
- Joomla
- Windows live spaces

So pretty much the most used and popular blog websites, very impressive. Your able to change the colour, font and size at the tap of your finger and don't worry if you get a call or tap on the home button there is a little thing called auto-save. With auto-save it automatically saves what you were doing right up until the time of the call (pretty self explanatory).

It's a very simple and straight forward application, just sit down for an hour and learn all the basics, trust me you'll be a pro in no time. There is a built in spell check and you can have many blogging accounts. The version I downloaded was the free version, however, there is also Blogbooster for £1.79 which isn't breaking the bank especially if your going to blog everyday. It's pretty much the same with a few extra features. I've been very happy with this app and I looking forward to blogging on the move.

Celebrity Style: Lea Michelle

Many of you will know Lea Michelle from the smash hit TV series Glee. Lea plays Rachel Berry the talented, driven and head strong lead vocalist in New Directions, her style translated on screen as Rachel is a preppy geek-meets-chic style with a mixture grandmothers clothes. However, don't let these clothes fool you as off screen and on the red carpet Lea Michelle's style is breathtaking just like her vocal range. Her style has made her a fashion icon as it always seems to catch eyes with the colours she wears and consists of simple modern and exquisite vintage dresses.

Never afraid to look and feel sexy, in an recent interview with Maire Clare, Lea talks about how she has a built up aggression against her former school. She was never the prettiest and most popular girl in school, however, every cloud has a silver lining and Glee has made feel a lot more confident in herself and this is shown through her sense of style. Take a look a mixture of outfits, Rachel Berry vs Lea Michelle which do you prefer?
