Celebrity Style: Katy Perry

California girl Katy Perry will always hold a special place in my heart when it comes to her fashion sense, simply because this women is all about colour, being playful and sexy.  When she first came to our screens with her smash hit "I kissed a girl" she reminded me of a edgy pin up doll by mixing high-wasited leather shorts with a rainbow sequinned bar. Katy has literally worn ever colour in the rainbow and I love her for it. We've seen her in everything from a mary-go-round dress to a half American half British flag latex dress, the Californian beauty knows how to dress for her body shape and isn't afraid to show off her assets. Take a look a some of my favourite outfits.

I'm so in love with this "Admit one" red sequin dress by Jeremy Scott

I think Katy looks so beautiful in this Karl Lagerfeld Fall 2009 dress. The structured shoulders and dark taupe colour look lovely on her skin

Looking lovely and girly in pink Basil Soda confection

Here's a colourful ensemble of Katy Perry's outfits, here we see her in a shiny blue cocktail dress by Jean Charles de Castebajac (Autumn 2008). A stripy mini pink dress, the famous  Manish Arora carousel dress, Jean Charles de Castebajac dress entirely made of sequins with Obama's face, a custom made Katy playsuit.

Lady GaGa Extreme Style Review

Hi guys, I hope your all well and had a pleasant weekend, so were at the end of January now and what a long month it's been from christmas to now. As I said in my last fashion/style book review at the end of each month I'll be reviewing a book and today is the day of "Lady GaGa Extreme Style" by Lizzy Goodman. This book was a christmas present by a dear friend who knows how much I adore and admire Lady GaGa's creativeness, music and of course fashion. The retro book is bold, bright, colourful and delivers everything you need to know about GaGa and her free artistic sense of style.

Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germontta the New York born singer was a musical prodigy, from the age of 4 she learned the piano and wrote her first song at the age of 11. With 2 Grammy's under her designer belt and a sold out Monster Ball tour the global phenomenon is one of the most powerful female artists in the world, but just like every girl she loves to dress up and she loves fashion. The book takes an in-depth look at GaGa's eye catching leotards, fashionably impractical heels and the cool asymmetrical dresses.

Lady GaGa has exploded onto the international fashion scene and she has left her stamp all over it, It seems like this pop icons fashion is in line with her music. Lizzy Goodman is a music and fashion writer for Elle, New York Magazine and Rolling Stone. I definitely think it was a good idea for Lizzy to write this book as she seems to appreciate and understand GaGa but also speaks out loud. GaGa has reached a totally new level of "living the fame" her outfits often cause controversy but are never be ignored.

With over 120 colourful and a few black and white images this book explores the many faces of Lady GaGa. You learn that GaGa is inspired by many things such as photography, art, Freddie Mercury and Grace Jones  but she is especially inspired by her home town New York City where she was born.

GaGa believes clothing all comes down to sexual freedom for women, it's more about shapes and colours than it is about trends for her. The book looks at everything from her tattoos, sunglasses to her blonde ambition and being the all American unique girl. Let's not forget fashion isn't all about clothes the beautiful illustrated chapters cover make-up, hair, nail art, shoes, accessories and tattoos which all play a part in the "Haus of GaGa". Lady GaGa describes The Haus of GaGa as her behind-the-scenes creative team. The Haus is inspired by Andy Warhol's Factory where everything was a collective art form.

GaGa doesn't want to be seen as a celebrity but an artist who wants to share her love and passion of music and fashion. If you think we've seen it all think again, there is still so much more this artist has to offer and she is not going to give up until she dies. "If I could die anywhere, I would die on stage in front of my fans doing something I love" said GaGa when I went to see her live in May 2010, I was blown away by her Monster Ball show, here are a couple of pictures from the concert.

Lady GaGa - So Happy I Could Die

This is a great read and it kept me wanting more after every page turn. Anyone who is a GaGa fan would love this and anyone who wants to understand GaGa in more depth would appreciate it, packed with beautiful photographs and filled with quotes from the style icon herself, Lady GaGa Extreme Style is a book worth reading.

So it comes down to these 3 beautiful ladies. We see Amy Adams in a vintage inspired gown with detail you can't ignore, Sofia Vergara wow's us with her beautiful curves and eye catching blue, while Mila Kunis... well take a look for yourself.

Amy Adams

This stunning Herve Leroux dress looks simple from far but up-close the detail is detailed and structured. The halter neckline complements her shape and minimal jewels were a good idea. Amy you place 3rd on my best dressed

Sofia Vergara

They say "If you've got it flaunt it" and I'm glad Sofia does in this Cavali gown. 2nd place goes to you Sofia, your not afraid to be sexy and I like it

Mila Kunis

Mila, Mila, Mila you took my breath away and won me over on the red carpet. This bold, multicoloured Alexandra McQueen dress stood out on the red carpet without a doubt. The strapless, comfortable floaty gown that dripped with colour look beautiful on the actress. Smokey eyes and wavy hair added sexiness. Congratulations Mila for being the best dressed at the 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG)

Lights, camera, Fashion: 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) No.2 the men

Let's face it any man looks good in a suit or tuxedo and there were plenty of good looking men to choose from at last nights ceremony. I narrowed it down to these 3 men below based on the age, style and of course how good they look in the outfit. 27 year old British star Andrew Garfield looks so slick and sexy in his tux he was one guy not to ignored on the red carpet in navy blue. 50 year old British actor Colin Firth looked comfortable and smart with his bow tie detail and Justin Timberlake (who turns 30 today, happy birthday JT) looked handsome in his tailored tux with 2 white stripes on his silk tie (always keeping an eye on detail).

Andrew Garfield
This is my personal favourite, Andrew looks handsome in this navy Burberry tuxedo with coordinating dress shirt (I say navy is the new black)

 Colin Firth (Winner best actor)
The king himself looks very dashing in his Tom Ford tuxedo

 Justin Timberlake
The "Sexy back" singer looks handsome and very happy in this picture in his tailored Simon Spurr tuxedo

Lights, camera, Fashion: 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) No.1 the risk takers

It's the ladies I love with all my heart because they think outside the box. We see Claire Danes being brave and going for a floral patten, when I saw her in this dress I instantly thought of Spring time as it's very girly and the colour looks beautiful on her skin. Angie Harmon took to the red carpet with feathers (lots of feathers) I thought this was a brave move as it was all about the texture of the garment and last but not least the Julie Bowen. Julie was a number 1 risk taker for me as I don't think I've seen a pantsuit on the red carpet before, you either love it or hate it, but you have to admire her for trying.

Claire Danes (Winner for outstanding performance by a female actor in a television movie or mini series)
Take a look at this belted floral Louis Vuitton dress, Claire is being brave by going for a floral print, belt and fringe detail at the top of the dress, there's a lot going on, but I think she pulls it off very well

 Angie Harmon
This feathered Monique Lhuilllier gown screams fairytale

 Julie Bowen
What do you think of this Catherine Malandrino pantsuit

Hello everyone, so it's round 2 of the award ceremonies and last night saw the 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards. This year on the red carpet we saw a lot of, pinks, oranges, nudes and virgin whites. I'll do what I did last time for the Golden Globes and narrow it down into 3 categories: No.1 the risk takers (my personal favourite), No.2 the men and last but not least No.3 the best dressed.

Sarah Hyland
The Modern Family star lovely and age appropriate in this orange Max Mara dress

Jennifer Lawrence
This bright pink Oscar De La Renta was eye popping on the red carpet

Hilary Swank
Looking like a grecian goddess in this beautiful nude Versace gown
