Love Is A Battlefield (Fashion & Music go hand in hand)

Hey guys,

Hope your all well & enjoyed pancake day as much as I did, did you all stuff your faces? I'm sure you did. This post today is a new & exciting one for you all. I decided to change it up a bit as I've been meaning to do this for a while. Music & fashion couldn't be a more perfect fit, whether we're watching a music video, being fascinated by the costume designs at a concert or being blown away by an album photoshoot, you can't deny music + fashion = perfection. I love how music can make us think, feel, change our emotions, unite people
& brings individuals together from around the world. Whether It's sad powerful love ballad or a fun upbeat tempo summer song, music takes us to places we didn't know existed.

Why I decided to do this vlog is not only is it my first vlog for 2012 but I wanted to make it a memorable one. I've loved music ever since I can remember, having a mother that's very musically inclined with the knowledge of artists when she was growing up & making me realise I shouldn't listen to one type of genre of music made me much more open minded when exploring new music. (thank you mother). When growing up I leaned violin & I'm currently learning piano which I'll hopefully show on here one day.

A huge shout out to the people who have encouraged me to do this video not knowing themselves what I was capable of. I say the sky is the limit & take risks whether it be music or fashion. A couple of people have said I'm very brave for doing this & have guts, but you know what I say:
"Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy". Thank you for your wise & encouraging words Norman Vincent Peale.

In no way shape or form am I doing this seriously, I'm simply doing this for fun & to also show people a side that no one has ever seen of me. Hope you enjoy this guys.

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2012 Grammys No.3 The Best Dressed

"Oh na na were rolling in the deep". I'm sure you've guessed who my final ladies are. Only two women made my heart skip a beat on the red carpet and your about to see why. I know they are both wearing black, but if you want a few tips on wearing black then keep reading this post. Your about to see how to show a lot of skin and also how to show not that much skin at all but still look sex, beautiful and glamorous. (All photos in this post are courtesy of Just Jared I did not take these photos).

Rihanna

This black sexy silk custom gown by Giorgio Armani fits Ri Ri like a glove, if you do a plunging neckline and a very high slit, this is how you do it. And lets not forget the open dramatic back, just incase there wasn't enough skin. The dress was a collaboration by Rihanna herself and of course Mr. Armani. When getting interviewed on the carpet by Ryan Seacrest, Rihanna said  "I wanted something a little bit Michelle Pfeiffer from Scarface; simple but sexy a gangster at the same time". I place you 2nd Rihannah.

 Adele

No.1 best dressed had to go to my girl Adele. Of course with a little help from the same designer as above Giorgio Armani, Adele looks radiant, confident and very beautiful. Covered in black sequinned ring designs with a black mesh overlay she couldn't be more classy. After winning 7 Grammys on Sunday evening Adele not only draws us in with her music but also her fashion as well. Well done.

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2012 Grammys No.2 The Men

See what the sexy men had to off this year, it's nice to see colour whether it be navy, grey or brown, it always helps and you always get my vote. (All photos in this post are courtesy of Just Jared I did not take these photos).

 Adam Lavine
Three-piece grey suit, navy tie, pocket square and light blue and white striped shirt. How handsome does Adam look with his beautiful Victoria's secret supermodel girlfriend by his side.

 Kings Of Leon
Head to toe in Gucci and that's how it's done. The guys from Kings of Leon do know how to work a red carpet event.

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2012 Grammys No.1 The Risk Takers

Gold/nude, true blue to match the hair and of course see through orange to stop traffic. These ladies are the fun, creative and unforgettable muses on the red carpet. Step inside the world of a risk taker and take a few notes if you dare to be different. (All photos in this post are courtesy of Just Jared I did not take these photos).

 Taylor Swift

Check out Taylor in this nude/gold silk mermaid gown by Zuhair. The 22 year old singer did something different this year by not playing it safe, with the gown being cut out at the back, the gown starts from the neck and works it way down into a mermaid shape, her hair is pulled back and straight (for a change). I say thumbs up Taylor for trying something new and stepping out of your own comfort zone.

 Fergie

Fergalicious Fergie Ferg is stopping traffic in this sheer orange dress by Jean Paul Gaultier. Every year someone always leaves little to the imagination by going sheer/see through and this year it was Fergie Ferg. I love the colour and the lace detail is beautiful, would you have worn orange underwear, black, nothing at all or maybe even a slip dress, who knows? What I know is Fregie looks like she's having fun. She's 36 years old and I say if you got it, flaunt it and that's exactly what she's doing.

Katy Perry

A blue slightly sheer sequinned encrusted dress to match the blue hair, why not. This dress is by Elie Saab and Katy is wearing it well, you can always count of Katy to be a risk taker on the red carpet as her fashion sense is all about colour, cartoon and fun.

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2012 Grammys

The 4 G's: Grammy, Ghetto, Glitz and Glamorous. Those 4 words pretty much some up the Grammys and I love it. There was a lot going on this year on the red carpet, which makes it much more fun to write about. We see everything from bright colours, lace, gold, see through (that leave very little to the imagination), plunging neck lines, lots of flesh, lots of leg and much more. I hope you enjoy the fun red carpet event and the people's outfits I have chosen. (All photos in this post are courtesy of Just Jared I did not take these photos).

 Carrie Underwood
A long sleeve Gomez Gracia backless dress.

 Jessie J
The British beauty in a mermaid style dress by Julien Macdonald.

 Alicia Keys
After having her baby not long ago, Alicia looks breath taking in Alexandre Vauthier and of course Christian Louboutin shoes.

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2012 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA'S) No.3 The Best Dressed

3 beautiful ladies, our very own British presenter taking it back to the old school days in Salmon, a beautiful Marylin keeping it simple in black & white but not breaking the bank and a lady who doesn't need any Help at all in a bright pink gown against her gorgeous dark skin. These ladies truly deserve to be crowned the best dressed. (All photos in this post are courtesy of Just Jared and Red carpet fashion awards I did not take these photos).

Michelle Williams

Designed by by H&M (yes H&M) as part for the Conscious Collection Michelle looks beautiful. Michelle is 3rd on my list, by keeping it simple in black at white and the rose detail on the waist with red lips, it looks like she is not even trying and it's efforless. She is definitely channeling Marylyn.

Fearne Cotton

Our own British presenter rocked this very old school glamour in this salmon pink Moschino dress. With a black bow around her tiny waist and a jewelled collar finished with her messy bobbed hair, Fearne is 2nd on my list.

 Viola Davis

The No.1 best dressed list at the BAFTA'S 2012 goes to Viola Davis. It is so beautiful so see a dark skinned black women on the red carpet looking confident and comfortable, this pink Valentino dress, looking stunning on her skin and I couldn't imagine it on anyone else. Bring on the dark skinned girls.

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2012 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA'S) No.2 The Men

I was happy with the men this year purely because we saw a little bit of colour and a slightly more old school look. Both Bard Pitt and Cuba Gooding Jr did a great job. It just goes to show, that men can look different on the red carpet than your simple and safe black suit. A little bit of colour never hurt anyone. (All photos in this post are courtesy of Just Jared and Red carpet fashion awards I did not take these photos).

Cuba Gooding Jr
So very happy to see a man in colour on the red carpet. Cuba looks handsome in this Hackett suit (London designer). The lovely velvet ox blood jacket and waist coat

 Brad Pitt
A Dolce & Gabbana coat and Gucci suit worked very well for Bard. Looking very old school with the coat on top, brad looks very dashing.

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2012 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA'S) No.1 The Risk Takers

The ladies who take risks on the red carpet are the ones the red carpets are designed for. Although Emma Watson's outfit was from the Pre - BAFTA party which took place on saturday evening (a day before the BAFTA'S) I couldn't help but put her on my list because I love her outfit along with Naomi Harris. Only two risk takers this year, but I feel they are the perfect choice. (All photos in this post are courtesy of Just Jared and Red carpet fashion awards I did not take these photos).

Emma Watson

Looking beautiful in in red Valentino, slick hair and red lipstick. Lady in red is definitely Emma Watson. The colour, the lace and the cute bow shows Emma isn't afraid of being a bit daring on the carpet. The 21 year old actress is one to look out for this year on the red carpet,  I love this look as there is so much going on but it works and it's also nice she is showing some leg on red carpet.

 Naomi Harris

Getting ready for Spring, I love Naomi in this yellow gown by the amazing Emilio PucciI love seeing colour on the red carpet and Naomi looks pretty in this gown, it's the structure at the top half of this dress I fell in love with along with it's cut out detail.

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2012 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA'S)

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the British Academy Film Awards also known as BAFTA. Why I love this award show is because it's british, it's nice to see Americans on british soil and it's even nicer to see everyone come together and appreciate raw British talent whether it be upcoming, independent or well known. The red carpet was all over the place this year, there wasn't a theme, certain colour or material, it was what it was. So enjoy the garments I have chosen and see what the stars had to offer. (All photos in this post are courtesy of Just Jared, I did not take these photos).

Jessica Chastain
Oscar De La Renta gown with a little help from Harry Winston and Jimmy Choo heels

Penelope Cruz

Tilda Swinton
Looking simple and chic in Celine

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) No.3 the best dressed

Here we are, everyones favourite part, the best dressed. Well done ladies you guys looked beautiful on the carpet. We see it all from a white detailed jumpsuit, to a beautifully cut out body-con maxi, to a very classy shoulder detailed gown. Get ready... (All the photos in this post are courtesy of Just Jared, I did not take these photos).

Amber Heard

Looking sultry and stunning in Zac Posen. If you wear black on the red carpet, this is how you do it. The cut outs are in just the right place and they don't show too much skin. With her hair up, you only focus on the dress which is what it's all about. Amber your 3rd on my best dressed list.

Kelly Osbourne

Very pretty and classy in this beautiful piece by Bradley Mischka. The Fashion Police cast should be really proud of Kelly (although she doesn't need hep in the fashion department) she looks so classy, I love the diamond shoulder detail and it fits her body beautifully. I place Kelly 2nd.

Rose Byrne

Looking gorgeous and Glamorous in a Elie Saab jumpsuit. This is taking a risk and pulling out all the works in this beautiful jumpsuit, all eyes are on Rose and why not. The best part about this jumpsuit is its detail and the colour. Honey your my best dressed for the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG).

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) No.2 The Man

Looks like "The Men" category might as well be "The Man" now. Either I'm being picky or the men aren't going that extra mile like they used to. Trust me people, there are so many things men can do with a suit to change it up slightly, last year the men where even doing better than the women, so guys whats happened? (All the photos in this post are courtesy of Just Jared, I did not take these photos).

Chris Colfer
The Glee guys are the only ones that stand out to me on the red carpet, they make an effort with the suits they pull together, I guess it helps that they are young because they don't play it safe with a simple suit. Chris Colfer looks so slick in Vivienne Westwood. I love the shiny shoes and the slick panels from the shoulders down to his elbow. It's the little bits of detail that grab my attention.

Lights, Camera, Fashion: 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) No.1 The Risk Takers

The risk takers are the ones we never forget because of their unique and sometimes outrageous choices. This year a lot of those risk takers were in black, white and grey (black + white = grey). I wasn't that impressed with the risk takers this year, I found them very boring and not that inspiring, but hey, at least they tried. From leather panels, to thick brown belts and lets not forget those feathers. (All the photos in this post are courtesy of Just Jared, I did not take these photos).

Emilia Clarke
Why is this dress a risk? Well there is so much going on, only certain women can pull this off and to be honest I don't think Emilia is one of them. There is a lot going on in this Chanel dress but I feel like she's not wearing the dress and the dress is wearing her. From it's structure up top and feathers at the bottom it's a risky Chanel dress.

Heather Morris
The ladies of Glee never fail to disappoint and check out Heather in this Masai Payan dress. She's a huge fan of the designer as this is the 3rd time I've seen her in her garments. Why is this a risk? Well look at it,  off the shoulder, leather panels, see through mesh and an open back with silver open toe heels (that's a risk in it's self). I think Heather looks really nice and so confident. The risk being there is so much going on with the dress.

Meryl Streep
I love Meryl and this year she decided to go for Vivienne Westwood couture gown. I don't think it's her best choice on the red carpet, but I love she dresses age appropriate and she embraces her age. The risk being the colour and the thick brown belt, I think she gets away with it because it's Meryl, but hey, she looks happy and comfortable, what more could you ask for on the red carpet.
